Patong is not a large town, one can easily get around the entire Patong area by walking. And whilst there are quite a number of hotels in Patong on or along the beach road (Thawiwong Road) most are not. That said, in order to avoid confusion (and disappointment) we have divided Patong into two areas Patong Beach and Patong-Other to help you better understand which hotels are on or just across the street from the beach and those hotels that are not.

As such herein we define Patong-Other as the the area around Rat-U-Thit Road and eastward towards Nai Nai Road. Hotels in this area are away from the beach but still within very easy walking distance (5 to 10 minutes). As well, hotels in this area are often smaller and more 'hotel' than 'resort' with fewer facilities and (usually) lower rates.

That said, the area around Rat-U-Thit Rd. is just as vibrant as Thawiwong Rd. with any number of great seafood and local Thai and international restaurants, shops and night clubs in abundance (and often a bit cheaper than on the beachfront). Short or long rides within Patong by taxi are usually a fixed at 100 baht (rides to others areas will higher). Public facilities, such as banks, post office, local markets, hospitals, and police station are all in the vicinity. FYI, in order to remain objective, hotels are listed in alphabetical order. We don't favor any hotel for any reason.
